Case Study Master Class
This class is designed for SLPs who have been practicing a while and who are interested in AAC but never really felt comfortable with AAC. It is so easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of things to consider when practicing AAC. There are so many devices, language system, access methods. How can anyone possibly learn them all? Or keep up with them when things are constantly changing. But now there is help! You are worth it, and your students and clients are worth it! Make the commitment to yourself to become a rock star AAC practitioner. 
         Master Class Syllabus:
  1. Case Study Examples: what I learned from my clients
  2. AAC Device Trial Process: It doesn't have to be scary
  3. Participant Share: Tell us about your hardest client
  4. Small Group time: determine what devices you will trial, what device features are most important, what language functions are most important
  5. What to Do: when you get the device, set up, goals, treatment
  6. Small Group time: write 2-3 goals for this student using new device, write a treatment plan, determine a low tech back up 
  7. Discussion: common problems/challenges, brainstorm possible solution
  8. Final Share: share about the plan you have created and walk away CONFIDENT!
