Project ImPACT
Project ImPACT is recognized as one of the most effective parent coaching programs for parents of young children (up to age 6) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other social communication challenges. Recent research on parent mediated interventions for children with ASD and social communication challenges shows that this program is an effective treatment approach which leads to social communication improvements for the child. It also provides families with practical tools and strategies that can be used in their daily lives. Project ImPACT targets skills in four areas of social communication: social engagement, communication and language, imitation, and play. This is a naturalistic developmental behavioral intervention, or NDBI, that uses evidence-based intervention strategies to promote the child’s social communication.
